This update will automatically install the appropriate version (1.40 or 4.20) of the firmware based on the version of DVR-104 in your system. Do not run this update if you do not have one of these drives in the computer as it may render the drive or system inoperable. Use the steps below to check whether or not your computer has the Pioneer® DVR-104 DVD-RW Drive installed.

• After updating the drive firmware, the DVD-RW drive may show up under My Computer as a "CD Drive." If this occurs, restart the computer to update the drive name to "DVD-R Drive."
• Please eject any discs that may be in the DVD-RW drive before running this update.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
