1. Download the YAMAHA512.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the YAMAHA512.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "YAMAHA PCI DS-XG Audio Driver - Welcome" box, click Continue.
4. At the "Digital Signature Not Found" box, click Yes to continue the installation. A Command Prompt box will appear as the files are installed. Once finished, the Command Prompt box will close automatically.
5. At the "Setup Complete" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and click Finish.

After the computer has restarted, the installation of the updated audio drivers is complete.

Uninstall Instructions

If it is necessary to install the YAMAHA DS-XG PCI Audio driver again, you will need to first remove the YAMAHA512.EXE installation files. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3. At the "Add/Remove Programs" window, click the "Yamaha DS-GX" entry to highlight it.
4. Click the Change/Remove button.
5. At the "Welcome" screen, click "Remove" and then click Next.
6. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK to remove all of the components.
   NOTE: If a "ReadOnly File Detected" message box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Yes.
7. At the "Maintenance Complete" screen, click Finish.

The uninstallation is complete. You may now redownload and reinstall the YAMAHA512.EXE file.

This program installs the Yamaha PCI DS-XG Audio Driver Upgrade Utility.

• If a Windows 2000 BIOS update is available for your model of computer, be sure to install it before installing this update.
• Before installing Windows 2000 Professional or this update, please be sure to read Installing the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Operating System. Most of Sony's Windows 2000 software updates require you to install Windows 2000 Professional in C:WINNT. If Windows 2000 is not installed in this location, these updates will not install correctly.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
