1. Download the UM40K41M.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the UM40K41M.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony USB Mouse Driver 1.41 For Windows ME and 1.40 For Windows 2000" box, click Next.
   NOTE:  If a "Software Status" box appears and prompts you to continue the installation, click Yes.
   Please wait as the software checks the system and extracts the update files. The Sony USB Mouse Setup will launch.
4. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and click Finish.
5. After the computer restarts, connect the USB mouse to the notebook.
6. The USB mouse hardware will automatically be detected and the drivers installed.

The installation of the USB mouse driver is complete.

• IMPORTANT:   Before installing this update, please disconnect any USB pointing devices, including the Sony USB mouse.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
