1. Download the UM140FXK.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the UM140FXK.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony USB Mouse Windows 2000 Driver Ver. 140 - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically. The Sony USB Mouse program will launch.
4. At the "Welcome" box, click Next.
5. At the "Start Installation" box, click Next.
6. At the "Setup Complete" box, click Finish.
7. Restart the computer.
   1. Click Start and click Shut Down.
   2. At the "Shut Down Windows" box, select Restart (if it isn't already selected) and click OK.
8. After the computer restarts, connect the Sony USB Mouse to the computer. The USB mouse hardware will be detected and the drivers installed.

The installation of the Sony USB Mouse Driver is complete.

• Before installing this update, be sure to disconnect any USB pointing devices that may currently be attached, including the Sony USB Mouse.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
