- At the "Choose Destination Location" screen, click Next. Please wait as the utility is installed.
- At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now." and click Finish.
After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony PowerPanel Utility is complete.
Uninstall Instructions
If it is necessary to reinstall the Sony PowerPanel, you will need to first remove the installation files. To do so, please follow these steps:
- On the Taskbar, in the status area next to the current time, right-click the PowerPanel icon (it will appear as a small battery).
- From the menu, click Close.
- Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
- At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
- At the "Add/Remove Programs" box, from the "Currently installed programs" list, click the "PowerPanel" entry to highlight it.
- Click the "Change/Remove" button.
- At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK. Please wait as the files are uninstalled.
- At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, select "No, I will restart my computer later" and click Finish.
- From the "Currently installed programs" list, click the "Sony PowerPanel v4.0.1 for Windows 2000" entry to highlight it.
- Click the "Change/Remove" button.
- At the "ReadOnly File Detected" box, check the box next to "Don't display this message again" (to check it) and then click Yes.
- Click Close to exit the "Add/Remove Programs" box.
- Click the X in the top-right corner to close the "Control Panel" window.
- Restart the computer.
- Click Start and click Shut Down.
- At the "Shut Down Windows" box, select "Restart" and click OK.

This utility installs the Sony® PowerPanel Utility.
Important Note:
- Before installing this update, please be sure to first install the Sony Shared Library, Version 2.05.00.07060N2.
- Before installing Windows 2000 Professional or this update, please be sure to read Installing the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Operating System. Most of Sony's Windows 2000 software updates require you to install Windows 2000 Professional in C:WINNT. If Windows 2000 is not installed in this location, these updates will not install correctly.
- During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
