1. Download the SOU132XDCV.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOU132XDCV.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "SONY® Net MD Firmware Update Utility - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next.
   The Timer Recording Manager component of the Giga Pocket™ application will be closed automatically. Several setup boxes will briefly appear as the files are extracted and the system model is identified. As these processes complete, the boxes will close automatically. The Timer Recording Manager application will be closed during the update process.
   NOTE:  If an "Information" box appears prompting you to reboot, click OK. After the computer restarts, please continue with step 5 above.
   NOTE:  If a "Current Version" window appears, the system already has the latest firmware. In this case, click OK and then skip to step 12.
4. At the "Please exit all application(s)." window, click OK.
5. At the "Please eject The MiniDisc media if inserted....." window, click OK.
6. At the "Firmware Transfer" window, click Transfer.
7. At the "Attention!!!....." window, click OK. Please wait as the firmware is updated.
8. When the message "Finish transferring the firmware....." appears, click Close.
9. At the "Firmware update complete....." window, click OK.
10. At the "Information" screen, click OK.
11. After the computer shuts down completely.
12. Disconnect the AC power cord from the computer. Wait for 10 seconds and then connect the AC power cord to the computer again.
13. Turn on the computer.

The installation of the SONY® Net MD™ Firmware Update Utility is complete.

This utility updates the Sony® Net MD Firmware and resolves the following issues:

• Disc/track titles and group names are not displayed on the Net MD device when using SonicStage™ Premium software to write discs.
• MD may stop playing if you press the FF and REW buttons in a certain order.
• Pressing the REW button while playing the beginning of a track may cause the track position to jump two tracks back.
• Enhanced track title display speed on SonicStage Premium software.

• Before the installation of this firmware update, please eject all the media from the DVD-R/RW and MD drives and close all the applications.
• During the installation of this update, do not perform any of the following operations:
  • Press any button on the remote control
  • Shutdown the PC
  • Terminate the program
  • Insert an MD media
  • Operate "Fast User Switch"
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
