1. Download the SOR0014DLD.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SOR0014DLD.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony ARCD Patch for Windows XP CCD - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
4. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, click Finish.

The installation of this update is complete.

When upgrading to the Windows XP Home Edition operating system, the computer may not be correctly recognized by the VAIO PC Companion CD. If this occurs, the error "This program is not designed to run on this computer model" will be displayed. This utility will update the system software so the VAIO PC Companion CD correctly recognizes the computer and installs the Sony updates for the Windows XP operating system.

• If, after installing this update, the original Sony Application Recovery CDs are used, this update will be overwritten. You will then need to reinstall this update before using the VAIO PC Companion CD.
• If, after installing this update, the computer is restored to the original factory-shipped configuration with the Sony System Recovery CD, this update will need to be reinstalled before using the VAIO PC Companion CD.
• For convenience, you may wish to create a backup of this file on an external drive or removable media (such as a CDR/CDRW disc).
• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
