1. Follow the steps below to verify that "Hibernation Support" is enabled.
   1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
   2. At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Power Options icon.
   3. Click the "Hibernate" tab and verify that the "Enable hibernate support" check box is checked. If not, click on the check box to enable Hibernate Support.
   4. Click Apply and then click OK to close the Power Options window.
   5. Click the "X" in the upper right corner of the Control Panel window.
2. Download the SO-P30I20402JA03US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SO-P30I20402JA03US.EXE file to begin the installation.
4. At the "Sony PowerPanel Utility Update For Microsoft Windows 2000" box click Next. Several setup boxes may briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
5. At the "Install" Box, click OK to restart the computer.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the PowerPanel Utility is complete.

This program installs an updated PowerPanel Utility to resolve the following issues:

• PowerPanel Utility stops responding.
• Unable to End Task on the PowerPanel application in the Windows Task Manager.
• The Microsoft® Windows® Operating System stops responding when shutting down.

• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
