1. Download the SO-P10500802II03US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SO-P10500802II03US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony Modem Check 1.0.5" Welcome screen, click Next.
4. At the "License Agreement" screen, select "I agree to the terms of this license agreement" and click Next.
5. At the "Ready to Install" screen, click Next.
6. At the "Restart Computer" screen, click Finish and your computer will restart.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Sony® Modem Check Utility is complete. Please proceed with the steps below to launch and use the program to test the modem connection speed.

Sony Modem Check Utility Instructions

1. Click the Start menu, select All Programs, then select Sony Modem Check, then click Modem Check Utility to launch the utility.
   NOTE: If you need to dial a special number prefix for dialing out, click the Options menu, enter the number prefix, then click OK.
2. Ensure that the phone line is connected to the computer, and click the Connect button.
3. At the "Plug in AC power" box, make sure the AC power supply is connected to the computer, plug in the AC power supply to the power outlet, and click OK. Please wait while the modem connects to the test server.
4. After the modem has connected, an "Unplug AC power" box appears. Unplug the AC power supply from the power outlet and click OK. Please wait while the modem connects to the test server.

After the modem has connected a second time, a message box will appear. Please read the message box and follow the instructions provided. After reading the message, click OK. In some cases the message may request you to contact Sony Support. At this point the program has finished testing the modem, and you can click the Exit button to exit the program.

• This program requires that your system is equipped with a charged battery. Please ensure the battery is fully charged and installed before running this program.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
• This program will dial a toll-free number in order to perform the test. No phone charges will be incurred, and you do not need to have an ISP connection to perform the test.
