1. Download the SO-A50F10802FX04US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double click the SO-A50F10802FX04US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony BIOS Utility, Version R0050F1 for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click Next.
4. At the "License Agreement" dialog box, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree".
5. At the "VAIO BIOS Update Tool 1.0.00.12030," make sure all conditions are met, then click "Update" to continue.
6. At the "WBFLASH" box, click OK. Do not interrupt the BIOS flashing process.
7. At the next "WBFLASH" box, click OK.
8. Please wait for computer to shut down, wait a few seconds then turn on the computer.

After the computer starts, the installation of the BIOS update is complete.

This utility will update the system BIOS and resolves an issue with the Microsoft® Outlook® or Microsoft® Outlook® Express programs after the Microsoft® Windows® operating system Service Pack 2 is installed.

• Before installing this update, be sure the computer is running from AC power. If the installation of the BIOS is interrupted by power loss, the computer may not operate correctly or at all!
• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
