  1. Download the SNS_103.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
  2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SNS_103.EXE file.

  6. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.

  8. Click Install.
  9. Click Next.
  10. Click Browse.
  11. Select C:WindowsTempSony Notebook Setup Ver. 1.03Disk1.
  12. Double-click the Setup.exe file.
  13. Click Finish.
  14. Select English and click Next.
  15. At the "Install Sony Notebook Setup" screen, click Next.
  16. At the "Choose Destination Location" screen, click Next.
    NOTE: If a "Read Only File Detected" message appears, click No.
  17. At the prompt, "Do you want to start this software on boot?", click No.
  18. Select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish.
The installation of the Sony Notebook Setup Update is complete.

What this drivers do:

This utility installs the Sony® Notebook Setup update to resolve the following issues:
  • The Error: "E:TMPvssShinsakuSony Notebook SetupBetaSNSPropSUResourceBiosIndexTable.cpp Unknown BIOS version 'R021630S1'." that appears after you upgrade the computer BIOS to Version 2.16. NOTE:  You can also install this program before updating the BIOS to avoid the error altogether.
  • The notebook will not resume from the "Hibernate" or "Suspend" Mode when using a second hard disk drive. This will fail the suspend/resume feature of Power Management.

Important Note:

  • To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
  • It is highly recommended to print out these instructions for a reference during the installation process.
  • Print out a copy of the README.TXT file which appears toward the end of the installation for reference.
