1. Download the SBS017CRE.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the SBS017CRE.EXE file to begin the installation. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
3. At the "InstallShield Wizard - Intel SM Bus Controller driver install is complete." screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now," and click Finish.
4. At the "Setup Complete" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and then click Finish.

After the computer restarts, the Sony Notebook Control Device driver installation is complete.

If it is necessary to reinstall the Intel (R) 82801 BA/BAM SMBus Controller -2443 Driver, you will need to first remove the installation files. To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Go to the directory where the SBS017CRE.EXE file was downloaded.
2. Right-click the SBS017CRE.EXE, and click Delete.
3. At the "Confirm File Delete" box, click Yes.
4. The removal of the Sony Notebook Control Device driver file is complete. You may now download and install the SBS017CRE.EXE file again.

• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
