1. Download the R0118T0.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the R0118T0.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "BIOS Version R0118T0 for PCG-C1X - Welcome" box, click Continue. An "Unpacking..." box, a "Setup" box, and then a DOS box will appear as the setup files are installed. Once the setup files are installed, the boxes will close automatically.
4. At the "BIOS Version R0118T0 Upgrade Utility" screen, click Next.
5. At the "Copying Files" screen, insert a formatted bootable floppy disk in the disk drive (A:), and then click Next. Please wait as the files are copied to the floppy disk.
6. At the "Finished Copying Files" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected.
7. Be sure to leave the floppy disk in the drive and click Finish to restart the computer. The computer will boot from the floppy disk and run the BIOS update utility. Please wait as the update approximately two minutes. After the update is complete, the computer will turn off.
8. Eject the floppy disk from the drive.
   NOTE: It is recommended that you keep the disk in a safe place if it becomes necessary to reinstall the BIOS update.
9. Turn on the computer

After the computer restarts, the installtion of the modem driver is complete.

Uninstall Instructions

If it is necessary to run the R0118T0.EXE utility again, you will need to first remove the R0118T0 installation files. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Go to the directory where the R0118T0.EXE file was downloaded and double-click it
2. Insert the bootable floppy disk back into the drive.
3. At the "BIOS Version R0118T0 for PCG-C1X - Welcome" box, click Continue.
   NOTE: An "Unpacking..." box, a "Setup" box, and then a DOS box will appear as the setup files are installed. Once the setup files are installed, the boxes will close automatically.
4. At the "Welcome" screen, select "Remove" and then click Next.
5. At the "Confirm File Deletion" window, click OK.
6. At the "Maintenance Complete" screen, click Finish.

The R0118T0.EXE file can now be reinstalled.

This utility updates the BIOS and resolves the issue where the computer may stop responding if some USB Hubs or other USB devices remain attached while the system (re)starts.

• This procedure will update the computer's BIOS for Windows 98. It may be necessary to remove and then reinstall any hardware that did not ship with the computer. For assistance reinstalling the hardware, please consult the product documentation or contact the product manufacturer.
• To install this upgrade, you will need to create a bootable floppy disk to receive the firmware update files. To prepare a floppy disk for use with this update, please refer to the Create A Bootable Floppy Disk procedure.
• Before installing this update, be sure the computer is connected to AC power and that the USB floppy drive is the only USB device connected to the computer's USB port.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
