1. Download the PHBSYS-00798007-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the PHBSYS-00798007-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "BIOS R0105X3 Update Utility for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click "Next".
4. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
5. At the "VAIO BIOS Update Tool 1.0.01.10181" dialog, click "Update".
6. At the "WBFLASH" dialog, click "OK" to proceed with updating the BIOS.
7. At the "BIOS Update successfully completed" message, click "OK" to shutdown the computer.
8. Wait 10 seconds, then turn on the computer.
9. As the computer restarts, press the "F2" function key to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
10. At the "BIOS SETUP UTILITY" screen, press the "F9" function key, make sure "[Yes]" is highlighted, and press the "Enter" key to load the BIOS Setup defaults.
11. Press the "F10" function key, make sure "[Yes]" is highlighted, and press the "Enter" key to exit the BIOS Setup Utility.

When the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS Update is complete.

This utility updates the BIOS to version R0105X3 and provides the following benefits:

• Resolves an issue where more than one DOS prompt appears after finishing a DOS command.
• Can help prevent an "Operating System Not Found" error from occurring.

• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
