Download & Install Guide:
- Download the OEMSETUP.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Insert a newly formatted floppy disk into your A: drive.
- Go to the folder where the OEMSETUP.EXE file was downloaded and double-click on the OEMSETUP.EXE file.
- This file will self-extract into three files. Close the MS-DOS window.
- Double-click on InstallOEM.BAT
- System files and OEMSETUP files will be copied to the floppy disk.
- When prompted, close all windows and restart computer. Leave the floppy disk in the A: drive.
- The install program will automatically update the sound driver files from the floppy disk.
- When prompted, remove the floppy and restart the computer.
- Once the computer restarts, go to the Start Menu, then Settings and then Control Panel.
- Select and open the System icon.
- Click on the Device Manager tab.
- Double-click on Sound, video and game controllers to expand this category.
- Highlight ES1938 PCI Audiodrive Device Manager.
- Click on the Properties button.
- Select the Driver Tab.
- Click on Update Driver.
- Click on NEXT in the first two Update Device screens.
- In the third Update Device screen, verify that the default path C:WINDOWSOPTIONSCABS is set and click on NEXT.
- After the driver information base has been built, click on NEXT.
- Wait for the driver to install and then click FINISH.
- Restart your computer. The sound driver has been updated.
- Close all windows.
- Label the floppy disk Audiodrive Sound Driver and save it. It can be used to update the Sound Driver the next time you restore your system or sound files from the Recovery CDs.
- You may delete the files created in your download or temporary directory.
What this drivers do:
This utility resolves an issue of poor sound quality or no sound when the computer comes out of Standby mode after performing a recovery from the System Recovery CD or when the Audio driver has been restored from the Application Recovery CD.
Important Note:
- To install this upgrade, you will need to create a formatted floppy disk to receive the installation files. To prepare a floppy disk for use with this update, please refer to the How To Format A Floppy Disk Or Create A Bootable Floppy Disk procedure.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
