1. Download the MEM_STICK.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the MEM_STICK.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Sony PCI Memory Stick Controller Driver - Welcome" box, click Continue. A Command Prompt box will appear as the files are installed. Once finished, the Command Prompt box will close automatically.
4. At the "Setup Complete" screen, click Finish.

Installation of the Sony PCI Memory Stick Controller driver is complete.

If it is necessary to install the Sony PCI Memory Stick Controller driver again, you will need to first remove the MEM_STICK.EXE installation files. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3. At the "Add/Remove Programs" window, click the "MemStick" entry to highlight it.
4. Click the Change/Remove button.
5. At the "Welcome" screen, click "Remove" and then click Next.
6. At the "Confirm File Deletion" window, click OK to remove all of its components.
   NOTE: If a "ReadOnly File Detected" message box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Yes.
7. At the "Maintenance Complete" screen, click Finish.
8. Click Close to exit the "Add/Remove Programs" window.
9. Click the X in the top-right corner to close the "Control Panel" window.

The MEM_STICK.EXE file can now be reinstalled.

The Sony PCI Memory Stick® Controller driver to enable the Sony Memory Stick® slot under the Windows® 2000 Operating System.

• To install these drivers correctly, this utility requires Windows 2000 to be installed on the boot partition (C:). The drivers will not be installed correctly if Windows 2000 is installed in a different hard drive partition. To perform a "Clean Install" of Windows 2000 Professional in the (C:) partition, please read Installing the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Operating System.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
