1. Download the MEMSTK101.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the MEMSTK101.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Memory Stick Driver 1.01.0209 - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes and a Command Prompt box will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
4. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and click Finish.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Memory Stick driver is complete.

Uninstall Procedure

If it is necessary to install the Sony PCI Memory Stick controller driver again, you will need to first remove the MEMSTK101.EXE installation files. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Go to where the MEMSTK101.EXE file was downloaded and double-click it.
2. At the "Memory Stick Driver 1.01.0209 - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next.
3. At the "Welcome" screen, select "Remove" and then click Next.
4. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK to remove all of the components.
5. If a "ReadOnly File Detected" message box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Yes.
6. At the "Maintenance Complete" screen, click Finish.

The uninstallation is complete. You may now redownload and reinstall the MEMSTK101.EXE file.

This utility will install the Sony® PCI Memory Stick™ Controller Driver.

• Before installing Windows 2000 Professional or this update, please be sure to read Installing the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Operating System. Most of Sony's Windows 2000 software updates require you to install Windows 2000 Professional in C:WINNT. If Windows 2000 is not installed in this location, these updates will not install correctly.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
