1. Download the LPCV_V90.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the folder where the LPCV_V90.EXE file was downloaded and double-click on the LPCV_V90.EXE file.
3. Click unzip. This will expand to C:Lucent V.90 directory.
4. Click OK.
5. Click Close.
6. Go to the Lucent V.90 directory and click on the setup icon.
7. Click on Next.
8. The system will restart.

Information:

• Your ISP may have either an X2/V.90 server or a K56flex/V.90 server for communicating with your modem. When connecting to an X2/V.90 server, you will connect using the V.90 protocol. When connecting to a K56flex/V.90 server, You will establish a K56flex connection. This is normal, your modem performance will be similar connecting to either V.90 server type. Try connecting to both server types and use the one that provides the best performance.

Known Issues:

• The Microsoft Works communications feature does not work with the V.90 driver upgrade.
      Currently there is no solution for this issue.
• Unable to call SOS using VoiceView technology in Windows 98. To resolve this issue follow the steps below:
  1. Attach a regular phone to the appropriate modem jack.
  2. Do not click on speaker phone.
  3. Pick up the handset of the phone.
  4. Click Dial.
• Error: Compuserve connection failed "Dial-Up Networking Failed:". To resolve this issue follow the steps below to create a new connection to your ISP.
  1. Click on the "My Computer" icon.
  2. Click on the "Dial-Up Networking" icon.
  3. Follow the prompts to configure a new connection.
  NOTE: You will need the phone number of your ISP server to complete this process.

This utility installs an updated modem driver to improve modem connection speeds.

• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
