1. Download the KLSI.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the KLSI.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Klsi USB - Ethernet Adapter Device Driver - Welcome" box, click Continue. Several message boxes and a Command Prompt box will appear while the files are installed. Once finished, the boxes will close automatically.
4. At the "Setup Complete" screen, click Finish.
5. Shut down the computer.
   1. Click Start and click Shut Down.
   2. At the "Shut Down Windows" box, click the drop-down arrow and select "Shut down".
   3. Click OK.
6. Once the computer has shut down, attach the PCGA-PRF1 Port Replicator.
7. Turn on the computer and boot into Windows 2000.

The installation of the Klsi USB-Ethernet Adapter device driver is now complete.

If it is necessary to install the Klsi USB-Ethernet Adapter device drivers again, you will need to first remove the KLSI.EXE installation files. To do so, follow these steps:

1. If the PCGA-PRF1 Port Replicator is still attached, disconnect it:
   1. Click Start and click Shut Down.
   2. At the "Shut Down Windows" box, click the drop-down arrow and select "Shut down."
   3. Click OK.
   4. Once the computer has shut down, attach the PCGA-PRF1 Port Replicator.
   5. Turn on the computer and boot into Windows 2000.
2. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
3. At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
4. At the "Add/Remove Programs" window, click the "Klsi USB Ethernet device driver" entry to highlight it.
5. Click the Change/Remove button.
6. At the "Welcome" screen, select "Remove" and then click Next.
7. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK.
   NOTE: If a "ReadOnly File Detected" message box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Yes.
   NOTE: If a "Locked File Detected" message box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Reboot.
8. At the "Setup Complete" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and then click Finish.

The KLSI.EXE file can now be reinstalled.

This utility installs the Sony® Klsi USB-Ethernet Adapter Device driver.

• To install these drivers correctly, this utility requires Windows 2000 to be installed on the boot partition (C:). The drivers will not be installed correctly if Windows 2000 is installed in a different hard drive partition. To perform a "Clean Install" of Windows 2000 Professional in the (C:) partition, please read Installing the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Operating System.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
