1. Download the JOGDIAL.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click JOGDIAl.EXE to begin the installation.
3. At the "JOGDIAL - Welcome" box, click Continue.
4. At the "Welcome to Jog Dial Utility Setup" screen, click Next.
5. At the "Choose Setup Language" box, verify English is selected and click OK.
6. At the "Choose Destination Location" box, click Next to accept the default Destination Folder (C:Program FilesSonyJog Dial Utility).
   NOTE: If a "Read Only File Detected" box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Yes.
7. At the "Setup Complete" box, confirm that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and then click Finish.

After the computer has restarted, the installation of the Sony Jogdial Utility is complete.

NOTE: If it is necessary to install the JOGDIAL.EXE utility again, you will need to first remove the JOGDIAL.EXE installation files. To do so, follow these steps:

1. Go to the directory where the JOGDIAL.EXE file was downloaded and double-click it.
2. At the "JOGDIAL - Welcome" window, click Continue.
3. At the "Setup" window, select "Remove" and click Next to remove the components.
4. At the "Confirm File Deletion" box, click OK.
   NOTE: If a "ReadOnly File Detected" message box appears, click the box next to "Don't display this message again" to check it and then click Yes.
5. At the "Maintenance Complete" screen, click Finish.

• Before installing this utility, you must first install the following Core Driver components in the order listed below:
  
  
  1. Sony Notebook Control Device Utility
  2. Sony Programmable I/O Control Device
  3. Sony Utility Dynamic Link Library
  4. Sony Extended BIOS Dynamic Link Library
  
  If you have already installed these components on the computer (for another Microsoft® Windows® 2000 software update), it is not necessary to reinstall them.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
