1. Download the ECDPTCH.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click ECDPTCH.EXE to begin the installation.
3. At the "Easy CD Creator Registry Patch - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next.
4. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and click Finish. Please wait as it may take several minutes as the computer shuts down and restarts.

After the computer restarts, installation of this update is complete.

To use the Adaptec Create CD menu, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Programs, and point to the Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 folder.
2. From the Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4 folder, click Create CD.

This utility updates the registry to resolve the issue where difficulties occur when shutting down or restarting the computer when the Adaptec Easy CD Creator version 4.03b application is installed.

• This update is for the PCG-FX240K, PCG-FX250K, and PCG-FX270K notebooks that factory-ship with Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.03b only.
• If the factory-shipped Adaptec Easy CD Creator 4.03b software is reinstalled (including when the computer is completely restored to the original factory-shipped configuration using the Sony System Recovery CDs), this update will also need to be reinstalled.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
