1. Download the C212XGK.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the C212XGK.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Conexant HCF Modem Driver - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
   NOTE: If a "This software driver version is older than the one in your computer. Would you like to abort the installation?" question box appears, click No to continue.
4. At the "Digital Signature Not Found" box, click Yes.
5. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and click Finish.

As the computer restarts, the modem hardware will be redetected and the drivers will be installed. The installation of the Conexant HCF PCI Modem Driver is now complete.

Uninstall Instructions

If it is necessary to reinstall the Conexant HCF PCI Modem Driver, you will need to first remove the C212XGK.EXE installation files. To do so, please follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and click Control Panel.
2. At the "Control Panel" window, double-click the Add/Remove Programs icon.
3. At the "Add/Remove Programs" box, from the list of installed applications, click the "Conexant HCF Modem Driver" entry to highlight it.
4. Click the Change/Remove button. Please wait as the files are uninstalled.
5. If a "Question" box appears, click Yes.
6. Click Close to exit the "Add/Remove Programs" box.
7. Click the X at the top-right corner to close the "Control Panel" window.

The uninstallation process is complete. You may redownload and reinstall the C212XGK.EXE file.

• Before installing Windows 2000 Professional or this update, please be sure to read Installing the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Operating System. Most of Sony's Windows 2000 software updates require you to install Windows 2000 Professional in C:WINNT. If Windows 2000 is not installed in this location, these updates will not install correctly.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
