- Download the BATSCOPE2.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
- Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the BATSCOPE2.EXE file to begin the installation.
- At the "BATSCOPE2 - Welcome" box, click Continue. Several setup boxes will appear during the installation. As the installation continues, these boxes will close automatically.
- At the "BATSCOPE2 - Installation Folder" box, click Continue to extract the installation files into the temporary folder (by default, C:Docume~1Cisckn~1Locals~1TempBatscope2). A Command Prompt box will appear and the files will be installed. Once finished, the Command Prompt box will close automatically.
NOTE: If a "BATSCOPE2" message box appears, click Yes to create the temporary installation folder. - At the "Choose the Setup Language" box, verify English is selected and click Next.
- At the "Welcome" box, click Next.
- At the "Choose Destination Location" box, click Next to install the BatteryScope utility in the default Destination Directory (C:Program FilesBatteryScope_W2K).
- At the "Setup Complete" screen, select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" and then click Finish.

- Before installing this utility, you must first install the following Core Driver components in the order listed below:

- Sony Programmable I/O Control Device (only for the PCG-F370, PCG-F390, PCG-F420, PCG-F430, PCG-F450, PCG-F480, PCG-F490, PCG-XG9, PCG-XG18, and PCG-XG19)
- Sony Utility Dynamic Link Library
- Sony Extended BIOS Dynamic Link Library
If you have already installed these components on the computer (for another Microsoft® Windows® 2000 software update), it is not necessary to reinstall them. - During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
- Before installing this update, be sure the computer is connected to AC power.
- To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
- It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
