1. Download the AWA003XDAK.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the AWA003XDAK.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "AwardBIOS™ Update Disk - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
   NOTE: If an "Information" box appears prompting you to reboot the computer, click OK. After the computer reboots, please continue with step 5 above.
4. At the Information box prompting you to insert a bootable disk, insert a bootable floppy diskette into the diskette drive and click OK.
5. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, keep the floppy diskette in the diskette drive and select "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" (if it isn't already selected) and click Finish. After the computer restarts from the floppy diskette, the BIOS will be updated automatically.
6. At the "A:>" prompt, eject and remove the floppy diskette from the diskette drive.
7. Restart the computer.
8. At the black "SONY" screen, press the F2 key to enter the BIOS Setup.
9. At the "AwardBIOS Setup Utility" screen, press ESC key.
10. From the "Exit" menu, press the DOWN ARROW key until "Load Setup Defaults" is highlighted.
11. Press ENTER.
12. At the "Setup Confirmation" box, verify "Yes" is highlighted and press ENTER.
13. From the "Exit" menu, verify "Exit Saving Changes" is highlighted and press ENTER.
14. At the "Setup Confirmation" box, verify "Yes" is highlighted and press ENTER.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the AwardBIOS™ is complete.

• Please have a bootable floppy diskette available before proceeding to this BIOS update. Bootable floppy diskette can be created by formatting a blank diskette with the "Create an MS-DOS startup disk" option enabled.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
