1. Download the AW-A10010801JD.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the AW-A10010801JD.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "BIOS 1001 Installation Utility - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next. Several setup boxes will briefly appear during the installation. As the files are installed, these boxes will close automatically.
   NOTE: If an "Information" box appears prompting you to reboot to verify the system model, click OK. After the computer reboots, please continue with step 5 above.
4. At the "Information" box, insert the 3� bootable floppy disk into the floppy disk drive and click OK.
5. At the "InstallShield Wizard Complete" screen, verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and click Finish. Be sure to leave the bootable floppy disk with the BIOS files in the floppy drive.
6. As the computer restarts, it will boot from the floppy disk instead of the hard drive. The BIOS will be updated automatically.
7. At the "A:>" prompt, eject and remove the floppy diskette from the drive.
8. Simultaneously press, and then release, the CTRL, ALT and DEL keys to restart the computer.
9. At the black "SONY" screen, press the F2 key to enter the BIOS Setup.
10. At the "AwardBIOS Setup Utility" screen, press the ESC key.
11. From the "Exit" menu, press the DOWN ARROW key until "Load Setup Defaults" is highlighted, and then press ENTER.
12. At the "Setup Confirmation" box, verify "Yes" is highlighted and then press ENTER.
13. From the "Exit" menu, verify "Exit (Save Changes)" is highlighted and then press ENTER.
14. At the "Setup Confirmation" box, verify "Yes" is highlighted and press ENTER.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS is complete.

• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
