1. Download the ASA004XDKG.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the ASA004XDKG.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "Asus BIOS 4001 Installation Utility - InstallShield Wizard" box, click Next.
   NOTE: Several setup boxes will briefly appear as the files are extracted and the computer model is identified. As these processes complete, the boxes will close automatically.
4. At the "Installation Wizard Complete" screen, insert the SONY System Recovery CD #1 into the DVDROM drive.
5. Verify that "Yes, I want to restart my computer now" is selected and click Finish. As the computer restarts, it will boot from the Recovery CD instead of the hard drive. The BIOS update utility will launch. Please wait as the installation of the BIOS will take one to two minutes to complete. Once the installation is complete, the utility will exit to a command prompt.
6. At the A:/> prompt, eject the Recovery CD from the DVDROM drive.
7. Turn off the computer.
8. Wait a few seconds and turn the computer back on.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS update is complete.

• If you have converted the C:/ hard drive partition from the factory-shipped FAT32 file system to the NTFS format, this update will not install correctly.
• You will need the Sony System Recovery CD #1 to complete the BIOS installation.
• During the installation of this update, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
