1. Download the AIBSYS-00600508-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the AIBSYS-00600508-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "AMIBIOS 2005 Update Utility for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click "Next".
4. At the "License Agreement" dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
5. At the "VAIO BIOS Update Tool" box, click "Update" to perform the BIOS update.
6. At the "WBFLASH" box, click "OK" to confirm the computer BIOS update.
7. At the "BIOS update successful" message, click "OK" to shutdown the computer.
8. Wait 10 seconds and then turn on the computer.
9. At the BIOS boot up screen, Press the "F2" function key to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
10. At the "BIOS SETUP UTILITY" screen, press the "F5" function key, make sure "[OK]" is highlighted and press the "Enter" key to load the BIOS Setup Default.
11. Press the "F10" function key, make sure "[OK]" is highlighted, and press the "Enter" key to exit the BIOS Setup Utility.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS update is complete.

This utility updates the BIOS to version 2005 and provides the following benefits:

• Resolves an issue where the computer may become unstable after resuming from standby.
• Resolves an issue where the VAIO® System Recovery may fail.
• Improves computer start-up and LAN connections.

• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
