1. Download the AIBSYS-00580904-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
2. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the AIBSYS-00580904-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
3. At the "AMIBIOS™ BIOS Update for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click "Next".
4. At the "License Agreement" dialog box, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree".
5. At the "VAIO BIOS Update Tool 1.0.01.10181," click "Update".
6. At the "WBFLASH", click OK to update system BIOS.
7. At the "BIOS update successful" message, click "OK" to shutdown the computer.
   NOTE:  Wait 10 seconds then turn on the computer.
8. At the BIOS boot up screen, press the "F2" function key to enter the BIOS Setup Utility.
9. At the "BIOS SETUP UTILITY" screen, press the "F5" function key, make sure "[OK]" is highlighted then press the "Enter" key to load the BIOS Setup Default.
10. Press the "F10" function key, make sure "[OK]" is highlighted, then press "Enter" key to exit the BIOS Setup Utility.

After the computer restarts, the installation of the BIOS update is complete.

This utility updates the BIOS to version 1010 and provides the following benefits:

• Resolves an issue where the computer may become unstable after resuming from standby.
• Improves the computer startup process.
• Resolves an issue where the VAIO® System Recovery sometimes fails.
• Resolves an issue where the computer may intermittently fail to display any video after startup.

• During the installation of this file, be sure that you are logged in as the Administrator or as a user with Administrative rights.
• To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
• It is highly recommended to print out these instructions as a reference during the installation process.
