1. To ensure that no other program interferes with the installation, save all work and close all other programs. The Taskbar should be clear of applications before proceeding.
2. Download the AGDMOD-00859401-US.EXE file to a temporary or download directory (please note this directory for reference).
3. Go to the directory where the file was downloaded and double-click the AGDMOD-00859401-US.EXE file to begin the installation.
4. At the "Modem Driver 2.1.47 for Microsoft® Windows® XP" screen, click "Next".
5. At the License Agreement dialog, read the agreement, then, if you agree, click "I Agree" to continue with the installation.
6. At the "Do you want to install the modem driver" screen, click "OK".

After the computer restarts, the installation of the Agere Systems® Modem Driver is complete.

This utility updates the Agere Systems® Modem Driver to version 2.1.47, and resolves an issue where no dial tone is heard when dialing out.
